Prayer Request

It has come to my attention over the last week that a family in the VA area has recently lost their little boy whom they adopted from Russia about the same time we brought Ellie home. The new father was to drop him off at day care and instead drove directly to work and left the child in the car. I know we have all at one time or another driven somewhere on autopilot...not quite remembering how we got there. Someone walking past the car around 1-2 pm reported the incident to the administration in the building...the father collapsed and was admitted to the hospital suffering from shock. As a result of the little boy's death, the father will face criminal charges and three adoption agencies related to this adoption have lost accreditation. Please be in prayer for this family (the Harrison's), for the agencies involved and for families that are in the process with these agencies.

What a HORRIBLE thing to have happen. I can't begin to find the words to express the pain I feel for all involved.

How sad. I will pray for the family and for the agencies. I can't imagine the pain this man is going through and the regret he will feel for the rest of his life.

How shocking! I can't even imagine how guilty and yet, sad the father feels. We've all done dumb things are parents and bare the guilt of it, but knowing that our loving Savior has already forgiven this man is assuring. I hope and pray that this man knows Jesus, otherwise, he will have a much more difficult time getting through this. I'll be praying for salvation and peace for all parties involved.

i live where this happened, and this might sound horrible, but the kid probably didn't make it very long. obviously ANY death of a child is horrible, especially one in which the poor little one is trapped in a hot car. by no means am i implying that it wasn't an absolutely horrible thing or that it wasn't a terrible way for that child to suffer. what i'm saying is that i'm almost thankful it was as hot as it was because with the weather that day, there's no way that child made it very long in a sealed car. again, a horrible thing, but it was so hot that i'm fairly confident that the child didn't suffer as long as it could have had the weather been cooler.

i've never understood how a parent could forget their child's in the car all day long. it's so sad when a child dies a death that could've been prevented.

i still feel for this guy though... his reaction shows that he truly didn't mean the child any harm. it's hard because obviously he was extremely irresponsible and caused a child to die such a horrible death, and that can't be taken lightly no matter what. but living with the guilt he'll face for the rest of his life will be far more terrible than any punishment the courts can order.

(by the way, your little girl is absolutely adorable!!!!!!!! love the picture in moscow & the shirt she's wearing in the other picture!)
